Present Laughter, November 2017
Present Laughter, directed by Angie Langfield and designed by Norman
Coates at the Embassy Theatre, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama,
November and December 2017
Present Laughter was the first public production of my second year at university. I was
part of the scenic art team, working with five others to realise the design. I helped to paint
all of the set elements in part, and took on two personal projects; repairing and finishing a
vintage mirror and painting an Art Deco mock-Grecian vase.
The floor had a dark wood parquet effect finish and a painted floor cloth based off an Art
Deco design. The walls had a light spray finish, and the banister included some gilding.
